The Learning Partner - Early Careers will working closely as part of a HR team and will report to the Head of Talent as Learning & Development Partner.

The incumbent will work with the business to provide learning and development solutions for a key populationgroup.

In this specific case this role will predominantly fulfil the role of Early Careers, covering Graduates, Apprenticeships and new joiners of all levels of experience.

The Learning & Development Partner - Early Careers Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the effective management of the commercial trainee programme.
  • Line management responsibility for Trainees, of between 1220 depending on yearly cycle.
  • Manage the recruitment activities surrounding the Commercial Trainee and Technical Apprentice intakes
  • Work with the Head of Talent Development and wider management team to develop enhanced communications protocols surrounding the Commercial Trainee programme, giving clarity and visibility around who is where and direction of individuals programmes.
  • Work in conjunction with Apprentice Development Officers and Regional Serice Managers, develop the skills of apprentice mentors.
  • Deliver monthly and bimonthly meetings with Commercial Trainees and their supporting managers, primary goal to make sure performance is tracked on ongoing basis and drive training and development.
  • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers and management of day to day relationships, making sure ROI is measured.
  • Manage events such as the Apprentice of the Year and Commercial Trainee training week.
The Learning & Development Partner - Early Careers Skills:

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in an engineering environment or equivalent as an Early Careers Specialist
  • Previous experience working within early careers as part of a role within HR, advantageous
  • Understanding on the apprenticeship levy
  • Excellent stakeholder management and development skills


This is a hybrid opportunity with a minimum 2 days based in the office and the rest working from home.
