Technical Author

Permanent Position - Full Time, on-site position

Salary Range £30,000 - £50,000 pa

Location:

Sandy - St. Neots - Cambourne, Cambridgeshire area - Own transport required due to location


Established Special Purpose Machinery design and manufacturing Company requires a Technical Author to produce full and accurate Operating & Maintenance manuals for their range of equipment.


You will need to have significant experience having worked in a similar role previously within an engineering machinery design environment.


Main Duties:


  • Produce full and detailed Operating & Maintenance Manuals for both new and existing equipment.
  • Monitor all standard equipment and update the O&M Manual with any changes made to these.
  • Liaise with other departments to gather all information, drawings, parts lists etc. required to produce the manuals.
  • Collate any 3rd party information required for use in manuals operating instructions, certificates, diagrams etc.
  • Ensure that the manual filing structure is kept up to date and any manuals can be accessed by relevant staff as required.
  • Assist the Technical Department with other duties as required.

Skills:


  • Methodical and meticulous approach.
  • Control of document production for nominated projects.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering.
  • This Technical Author role may also suit a Graduate Mechanical Engineer who is looking to develop their career within a Mechanical Design / Drawing Office environment.
Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, 40 hours per week.

Salary Guide:
£30,000 - £50,000 pa.

Holiday: 22 Days, increases to 25 with service years.

Location:
Cambourne on the Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire border.

Commutable from:
Cambridge, Huntingdon, Bedford, Biggleswade, Royston, St. Neots, Ely, Saffron Walden, Hitchin, Welwyn Garden City, Duxford, Newmarket, Haverhill or Chatteris, Bishop's Stortford.


Own transport required due to location - Applicants will need to be able to travel to the client site where the role is based in the Cambourne area and this is not a remote role.
