This is a 12month Fixed Term Contract.

Are you our new Junior Underwriter? Working in our fast paced, successful 2nd Charge Underwriting team in our Cardiff office, there has never been a better time to join Pepper Money, a specialist mortgage lender backed by a global financial institution offering first and second charge loans.

The Team
Previous experience via education and/or experience of financial services, secured lending or bank / building society is desirable.

In addition, during the time spent gaining the work experience we seek, a secured lending underwriting mandate must be obtained.

What you will be doing

To compose logical lending rationales for all cases reviewed.
To minimise the risk to the business and the applicant with a strong focus on fraud avoidance.
To maintain and demonstrate an awareness of external factors and market conditions which may affect underwriting decision making.
To ensure that regulatory requirements are adhered to throughout the process and in all contact with customers, brokers and third parties.
To accurately prepare secured loans for offer within agreed timescales.
To comply with and / or ensure compliance with all Pepper Money data protection policies.
To recommend changes and / or improvements to policies and procedures.

What we are looking for

Knowledge

Prior knowledge of financial services sector would be beneficial.

Competencies

Ability to rationalise decision making in a clear, logical manner.
Ability to create sound written lending rationales.
Ability to work on both ones own initiative and to be a good team player.
Ability to balance productivity, quality and a firstclass customer service

Ability to work on both ones own initiative and to be a good team player.

Qualifications

CeMAP 1,2 & 3 or ACIB (or willingness to study towards CeMap)
