Job Description

  • Job Title: Editor, Finimize
  • Location: London / Hybrid Working
  • About Finimize
  • Finimize empowers retail investors by equipping them with information to make their own informed investment decisions, without any jargon, in less than 15 minutes a day. Finimize has over one million subscribers to its daily newsletter and they've built a passionate global community around making investing accessible and digestible to clients.
  • At abrdn we're futurists, enabling our clients to be better investors. So it's great to be working with Finimize who share this vision of empowering investors through information.
  • About the role
  • As a Finimize editor, you'll work closely with our editorial team, analysts, and audio producers to make sure everything we publish has a consistent tone of voice, is easy to understand, and is conversational.
  • You'll also get involved with the processes that allow our team to produce worldclass content each and every day, and do work that involves our product, growth, sales, and community teams.
  • To do this, you'll have eagleeyed editing skills, an ear for rhythm, tone, and flow and creative flair and copywriting nous, too. Keep in mind that we don't expect our editors to be financial experts, though the confidence to understand, question, and challenge our analysts is a must. You might have experience as a financial or general copywriter, or editor.
  • Responsibilities will include:
  • You'll shape our analysts' work into something entertaining, accessible, and pacey, and in doing so help our members digest (and care about) the latest financial news, analysis, and education we have to offer
  • You'll be doing a lot from scratch too: you'll work with designers on images, and come up with marketing strategies and copy to support each piece of content you work on across multiple distribution channels
  • You'll tweak existing content strategies based on what's working and what isn't, and come up with new ways to engage, convert, and impress our members
  • You'll work across the team to drive search engine optimization (SEO) in content creation
  • Some things we consider critical to being our Editor:
  • A few years of experience working closely with words, writing short
- and long-form content

  • Attention to detail that helps in proofreading
  • Uptodate with the latest trends and best practices in content SEO, including keyword research (direct experience is a bonus)
  • Flexibility and humility about the rules of language
  • A willingness to take on a lot of work in a fastpaced startup environment and adapt to the news flow
  • The ability to operate with and keep to tight deadlines
  • The flexibility and intellectual curiosity to get involved in other elements of the content team's work as required, and in projects across the rest of the company
  • Excellent communication skills with a mindset for collaboration
  • The right to live and work in the UK
  • Here's what sets Finimize apart
  • Finimize is embarking on a mission to empower our generation to become their own financial advisors. And we're doing that by providing them with the necessary tools like financial news and education as well as a holistic financial advice platform.
  • Our vision is big: We strive to sustainably increase the net worth of our generation.
  • Our BHAG is: we want our generation to check Finimize before making any financial decision.
  • You'll work directly with the founding team
  • You'll work with a team that has a strong track record
  • You'll make a big impact and an immediate contribution
  • You'll join a highgrowth independent business fueled by the resources and experience of one of the world's largest investment firms
  • We have a worldclass selection of perks and benefits:
  • Generous pension (16% employer contribution)
  • 40 days holiday (including public holidays)
  • Income protection & life assurance
  • A private healthcare plan
  • Marketleading parental leave up to 40 weeks paid
  • Mental health support services
  • Donate to charities of your choice through your salary, with a matched £100/month employer contribution
  • Financial wellbeing resources including a free onetoone financial planning meeting. Plus access to our product and inhouse financial experts.
  • Additional selffunded options include further healthcare packages, travel insurance, legal services
  • Our Inclusive Culture
  • We are committed to exploring the possibilities of working smarter. This means we'd like to hear from you, whatever way you like to work.
