St Andrews Links is a dynamic and innovative organisation, home to seven golf courses including the world-famous Old Course, a state-of-the-art Golf Academy, three Clubhouses and five retail shops.


We are looking for Seasonal Greenkeepers for the 2024 season, (April until end of October) to work in the department to help prepare the courses for play each day.


In 2024 we will host the Scottish Men's Amateur in July, AIG Women's Open in August and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour in early October along with the many regular tournaments held across our courses each summer.


The job would involve working five days from seven while you would also be expected to work additional hours every third weekend on average.

Approximate times are 5.30am until 1.30pm through the bulk of the season.


Ideally suited to any greenkeeper looking to expand their knowledge and learn about different grasses, soils and tournament preparations while experiencing a different culture.

Tasks would include most mowing operations, course set-up and the usual general tasks associated with golf course maintenance.

Full training will be provided prior to use of any equipment.

The Greenkeeping Department is split into 3 different teams: i) The Old Course; the New and Jubilee; ii) the Eden, Strathtyrum & Balgove and Golf Academy grounds; iii) the Castle Course, which is our newest course having opened in 2008.

Irrespective of what team you are allocated to, there may be an opportunity to work on the Old Course during tournaments and on some Sundays as it is closed for golf on a Sunday and is an ideal opportunity to carry out maintenance.


  • Selfmotivated with a positive attitude, they should aspire to high standards and good team morale;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • A strong work ethic and ability to demonstrate they can work as part of a team and as an individual;
  • Good time management and communication skills;
  • A minimum of one years' experience of working on a golf course or sports pitch;
  • A full Driving License is desirable
