We are looking for a confident HR Business Partner who can use HR metrics to gain insight about people and the organisation and use these metrics to help deliver our strategy.

You will business partner with the Operations Director and his team responsible for our mills locatedin Disley, Chesterfield, and Lancaster.

What's involved in this HR Business Partner role?

  • Act as a trusted advisor for senior leaders; challenge and stretch them to achieve their maximum potential through selfawareness and understanding and, where necessary, challenge them to adapt their behaviour.
  • Support our leaders to engage their business areas on the values, strategy, and objectives of the business so they can ensure all colleagues are clear on their contribution to these objectives.
  • Be known for getting things done and delivering as promised.
  • Contribute innovative ideas around people, performance, information, and work.
  • Help senior leaders to create a shared agenda around our strategy (mission, vision, purpose). Assist them to create and embed the company culture throughout the organisation, helping to create a positive employee experience.
  • Work with our senior leaders to ensure we have the capacity and capability to meet customer demands.
  • Facilitate workforce planning, talent reviews, succession planning, and leverage career paths.
  • Drive a diverse and inclusive environment and champion awareness.
  • Advise and support managers with grievance, performance, disciplinary, and absence matters and facilitate mediation where required.
  • Ensure each site has a Northwood Voice (works council) group, and engage with and listen to the representatives to ensure we improve the employee experience and develop a culture where colleagues thrive.

Essential Skills:


  • CIPD qualified Level 5 or equivalent
  • Considerable generalist HR experience, preferably within a fastmoving multisite environment.
  • Ability to display personal credibility and command professional respect and confidence from others.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with colleagues and managers at all levels of the company as well as external contacts.
  • Uptodate working knowledge of employment law

Desirable Skills:


  • Ability to use PowerBI
  • Assisted in the development of a company culture programme
