Fylde Coast Mental Health Support Team (MHST) is excited to be recruiting a Clinical Lead to become part of the MHST at this important development stage.


With a core profession, for example CBT Therapist, clinical psychologist, counsellor, educational psychologist, nurse, occupational therapist, social worker, etc., you will have BACP Accreditation, BSc.

OT, CQSW, DipSW, RMN.

With a minimum of two years post-qualifying experience of working with children and young people who have emotional wellbeing and mental health needs, your qualifications, skills and experience will mean you are ideally suited to add to the skillset of the existing team.


Working across the Fylde Coast, you will undertake consultations, assessments and short-term evidence-based clinical interventions with children and young people.

You will also provide support, advice and consultation to families/carers, education staff and other professionals.


In addition, you will supervise practitioners within the team, and if you do not already have an Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) supervision qualification, training for this will be provided in the form of a 20-day post-graduate programme of study at a north-west university.

Some evening and weekend working may be required so you will have a flexible attitude to the role.


As this is a school-based service, the post holder will be expected to take their annual leave predominantly in the school holidays.

Delivering case management and clinical supervision to qualified members of the team and trainees from the Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) IAPT training programme

Undertaking appropriate consultations, mental health assessments and short-term clinical intervention with children and young people

Developing a whole setting approach to good emotional wellbeing and mental health

Ensuring that the voice of children, young people and families is incorporated into all aspects of assessment and treatment.

Contribute to, and delivering, training programmes for all colleagues in the MHST and delivering training and development workshops for schools and colleges

Contributing to audit, research and evaluation of the service, ensuring an ongoing commitment to developing practice through research within the team


All mental health teams working on the Fylde Coast with children, young people and families have a strong work ethic of support for each other, with all team members seen as equals.

The services have been established for many years and have now expanded to encompass Mental Health Support Teams, with a range of professionals and dedicated admin staff.

We have an ethos of person-centred service for our clients as well as good self-care being encouraged within the team.

This also extends to each other as colleagues, leading to a strong and motivated team.
