Sandwell School Nursing Service strives to deliver services that are visible and accessible to the school aged population of Sandwell delivering universal public health services and ensuring early help and extra support is available to children and young people at the times when they need it.

An opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Apprentice to join our innovative team.

During the apprenticeship training programme you will work towards achieving the requirements of the personal specification. The training will be provided in house; all off the job training will be within working hours. The apprenticeship will generally take up to 21 months to complete, including end point assessment.

On completion of the apprenticeship programme and meeting the necessary work standard, this role will move to NHS Agenda for Change Band 2.


The service works across the 6 towns in Sandwell delivering child focused universal public health services, supporting children and young people when they need it most.

Applicants will need to be a good communicator and innovative in their thinking.

Applicants must be car drivers and have daily use of a car as travel within the community is essential to the role.

Sandwell School Nursing team members are innovative and strive to provide excellent holistic care and support. New members of the team are supported by a mentoring and are supported in their learning and development journey.


T o provide admin support and assist the team with general office duties (such as filing, scanning, typing, data input, photocopying, booking rooms, ordering stationary) as directed by the Administration Team or service Team Leader.


To support the service with raising the school nursing profile with all stakeholders, undertaking actions from the service communication strategy.

To support the management of proactive and reactive communication messages for the greatest impact throughout the year.


To assist with audits and consultations with schools and partners proactively seeking feedback from children, young people, families and teachers.

To utilise various social media platforms to support service promotion such as:
Twitter/ Instragram /Facebook Microsoft teams
