Chrysalis East aims to reduce inequalities in progression to highly-selective universities for students across Tottenham.

Working in partnership across a network of local schools, this new programme includes academic enrichment, intervention, university preparation and careers guidance.


Working hours
Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8.00am-5.00pm

Term-time plus four weeks (41 working weeks)
£22,568pa actual salary for the working pattern


Key responsibilities

  • To provide academic intervention for students studying Science / English from years 713 across four secondary schools and our Sixth Form.
  • To champion the purpose of university and encourage students in our four Tottenham secondary schools to explore their future career and university options.
  • To work as part of the Chrysalis East team delivering university and careers events and summer schools.
Specific tasks

  • To work with Chrysalis East Partnership teachers supporting delivery of Science / English support to Key Stage 4 students.
  • To teach small groups of Year 7 to 11 students outside the classroom, supporting them to achieve their full academic potential.
  • To deliver a measurable impact on pupils and students receiving academic support.
  • To model to all students the habits that make effective and academically rigorous learners.
  • To create a challenging, but also caring and nurturing, learning environment.
  • To provide inclass support for Science / English to support and extend learning.
  • To actively reflect on practice and welcome feedback from colleagues.
  • To support the core team with programme planning, communications and impact measurement
