Recra is working in partnership with an innovative and fast-growing food manufacturer in the
Leicester area. They are keen to add a Quality
Technical Lead to join the team.
Technical Leader:
- To work as part of the daysbased Technical Team to drive forwards departmental objectives and performance targets.
- Provide assistance to the team by carrying out activities that maintain compliance assisting with and closing out corrective actions.
- To create and train out SOPs, manuals, core procedures, and other defined standards
- To have a flexible approach to work to meet the changing demands of the business.
- To adhere to and undertake all the tasks and accountabilities related to your work area and level of role.
- To be actively involved in setting standards and policing and advising where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
People:
- Integrate with all shifts ensuring employees understand and adhere to best practices.
- Make sure all staff behave safely and you lead by example.
- To coach and mentor QA and QC staff to drive standards forwards.
- To educate and promote food safety and technical standards across the operational teams.
- Competently liaise with customers and auditors.
Quality:
- Conduct various analyses against defined parameters and report outofspecification promptly.
- Maintaining and leading traceability routine testing.
- Policing the line paperwork to ensure adherence and completion in real time.
- Ensure lines are positively released promptly back to production using defined swabbing schemes through QATs.
- Auditing against the defined schedule (glass/hard plastic, bait box, GMP, Internal Audits).
- Knowledge and adherence to customerspecific QAS including driving adherence of site to standards.
- Conduct and analyze QA Board Testing and Trending to identify key improvement areas.
Customer Service:
- Know the main issues affecting the performance of your area during the last 24 hours, including reporting NCRs daily and following through to closure.
- Communicate any issues promptly to the Shift Management / Management Team.
- Liaise with customers regarding quality control visits.
- Cost Optimisation.
- Take positive corrective action if the product is not meeting specifications, including root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
- Report any repeat issues that should not be there to Shift Management.
- Lead supply and replenishment of chemicals, consumables, and waste management to ensure no supply issues.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure that you know your Food Safety and Health and Safety responsibilities.
- Ensure all PPE is worn correctly at all times.
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned in line with relevant CIC / SOP and QA Lab is kept clean at all times.
Continuous Improvement:
- Be actively involved with continuous improvement projects and ensure all Quality procedures are followed.
- Drive through the Quality agenda with the support of the Process Improvement Manager and Senior Process Technologist.
Hygiene:
- Embrace a CAYGO approach to your work.
- Drive site hygiene, including creation and training out of Cleaning Cards with the site.
- Actively take part in weekly GMP audits with Area Managers.
- Ensure that lines are walked and inspected throughout the day for Potential Foreign Body Hazards o Hygiene Improvements.

- Literacy/Numeracy to National Standard Level
- IT Skills
- Word / Excel / Internal Systems.

- Ability to accomplish a longrange goal or vision.
- Reacts positively to change or setbacks Level 3 Food Hygiene.
- Level 3 HACCP.
- Train the Trainer Training.
- Fire/Safety Training.
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30.
