Project Support Officer required on a permanent basis in a busy Programme Management Office supporting the Business Intelligence function.


Working predominantly in the Leicestershire area with potential for remote working, the post holder will work directly to Project Managers within the Business Intelligence Programme Management Office (BI PMO), providing support within Arden&GEM Commissioning Support Unit (CSU) to the BI Programme.


This role is an essential component of the on-going development and delivery of robust arrangements across the customer base and sits within a multifunctional Programme Team, active in the delivery of an on-going programme of local and national Informatics work streams/initiatives to support the delivery and transformation of the BI services.

This includes projects/change initiatives, business as usual maintenance including issue resolution and customer engagement activities, working closely with Regional CSU delivery partners, NHS England Commissioning Hubs and National Support Team and internally within Arden&GEM CSU, as required.

  • Support and facilitate programme delivery, particularly in relation to NHS England and Regional CSU delivery
  • Provide day to day operational Project support to the Direct Commissioning Managers and other members of the senior Business Intelligence Delivery Team.
  • Acting as a point of contact for the Programme Team, dealing and responding effectively with complex queries from stakeholders and passing on relevant information to appropriate team members.
  • To support implementation of the nationally developed and Regionally agreed Service Level Agreements between NHS England and CSUs.
  • Provide support, training and advice on all matters relating to identified projects/workstreams, for example, BI transformation programme, ongoing service delivery and cocommissioning initiatives.
  • To provide knowledge and expertise to customers, in their utilisation and optimisation of the BI tools and design/redesign of internal business processes, to facilitate the capture of robust, high quality clinical data, that will inform clinical commissioning and improve health and care delivery.
  • Provide day to day 'operational' Informatics expertise to the designated Project Manager and other members of the senior Team.
  • Support the designated Project Manager, deputising where necessary. Be prepared to take a lead on smaller projects under the supervision of senior managers.
  • Facilitate and support meetings and workshops, taking notes/action points where necessary e.g. Service Delivery Meetings, Project Team Meetings, Board meetings etc.
  • Assist with the compilation of project reports and documentation ensuring that information can be reviewed by the project team and Board in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all necessary records to a standard that will meet audit requirements including for example, project deployment plans, milestone/exception reports or any other reports that are a requirement of the specific initiative(s).
  • As a member of the Team, contribute to a seamless response to the needs of the customers and the organisation, maintaining a professional approach and leading by example at all times.
  • At times the post holder will be expected to work independently and lead specific work streams, only referring directly to the Team Manager or individual Project Manager to discuss particular concerns or issues by exception or when a steer is required.
  • To support peers/colleagues within the team to ensure that they are able to deliver against customer SLA requirements and responsibilities.
