We're seeking a friendly, compassionate and experienced person to join our Supported Living service as a Support Worker to support our customers to achieve their own independence.

Set on the edge of Well Street Common, Park Lodge has 25 one-bedroom flats. We provide personal care and support for adults aged 18 to 65, with a range of mental health needs.

The position of Support Worker is referred to internally at Sanctuary as Project Worker.

The role of Support Worker will include:

Regular key working and support planning to ensure relevant support is provided for our customers
Enabling and encouraging our customers to maximise their own potential and level of independence
Assessing customers' needs by writing and updating support plans
Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks
Working with statutory and nonstatutory agencies on behalf of the customers, actively encouraging choice and involvement, acting as an advocate when required
Sourcing innovative solutions to problems that allow customers' independence to be enhanced

Skills and experiences:

Experience of working with people who have mental health needs
A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management is desirable
An understanding of occupancy agreements is desirable
Excellent communication and listening skills
The ability to work on your own initiative
NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
