Crouched Friars is a Residential Care Home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 56 older people. We have 2 Residential Communities called Crouched Friars and Friars Wing, together with a Dementia Community called Colne Lodge.

Located on Crouch Street in Colchester we are conveniently located close to the town centre and all transport links. We are currently on a journey of improvement and have the ambition to become an Outstanding home. We are looking for team members to come on our journey.

Shifts times for a
Care Assistant are:
08:00-14:00; 14:00-20:00; 08:00-20:00

Reporting to the Deputy Manager as a
Care Assistant some of your responsibilities will include:

  Providing physical and mental stimulation by taking part in recreational and social activities with residents, both individually and as a group:

Helping to maintain accurate records, undertaking ongoing training and getting involved in welcoming and training new staff:

• 
  Providing physical and emotional well-being and social needs of our residents:

Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals:

• 
  Generally promoting our residents' independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the very best standards of care

About you:

• You will have some experience in a caring environment
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a busy team
• Compassionate and caring nature and a willingness to undertake any aspects of care or noncare duties
• A belief in giving personcentred care
