We have an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor to undertake a wide range of surveying functions to support the One Manchester Healthy Homes Team.

Your responsibilities will include performing property surveys to identify defects and raising worksas necessary within One Manchester systems.

You will also be accountable for completing surveys and preparing specifications, schedules and drawings for building works related to planned repairs, major repairs, disrepair and empty home reinstatement worksfor both internal or external contractors.

You will be responsible for stock condition surveys to keep One Manchester's asset data information updated and accurate.


You will undertake the role of contract administrator for the delivery of OM projects using relevant forms of building contract and ensuring these works are delivered in line with statutory consents (Building regulations, Planning, CDM, etc.).

Successfulindividuals in this role will be able to produce the best commercial and social value from projects.


It is also key that you develop relationships with planned and reactive maintenance teams to ensure a coordinated approach to repairs and maintenance as well as working with commercial teams to establish scheme cost plans.


We would love if you have the following:

  • Appropriate academic qualification/professional qualification.
  • Extensive experience of operating within a surveying team.
  • Experience with management of stakeholders (customers, consultants, etc.).
  • Up to date knowledge of appropriate legislation and are able to assess risk associated with asset decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written ability, strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly numerate and IT literate.
