Specialist School in Rawtenstall for Children with SEMH and ASD


Salary:
£90 per day


Contract:
Full-time, Temp to Permanent

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Do you have experience in behaviour support and enjoy working in an educational setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Behaviour Mentor and Teaching Assistant in our specialist school located in


Key Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support to children with SEMH and ASD, helping them overcome behavioural challenges and achieve their academic potential.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Support teachers in the planning and delivery of lessons, adapting materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide oneonone support to students with SEMH and ASD, addressing their specific learning and behavioural needs.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor or Teaching Assistant, preferably in a special educational setting.
  • A good understanding of SEMH and ASD and the ability to implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude towards addressing challenges.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the unique needs of each student and the school.
