Description
This role is to lead and manage our early careers programmes, including Apprentice, Graduate, Internship and work experience programmes.

The role will own the full life cycle of a range of programmes, from identifying needs and recruiting new talent through to designing and delivering the training and development of those on our programmes.

You'll work strategically and tactically with the Head of Early Careers and the senior leadership team to ensure our programmes align with group strategy and reflect our High Performance Culture.


Job Core Responsibilities:


Programme Management:

  • Lead and programme manage existing central early careers programmes to budget, managing placement rotations and training whilst balancing business requirements, individuals' development needs and external factors
  • Management and pastoral care of individuals on specific early careers programmes circa 50+
  • Work with placement managers and global HR team to effectively manage the performance and development of those on EC programmes.
  • Ensure global ODHR policies and processes are applied
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to design and develop high quality programmes
  • Design and facilitate training courses for a variety of audiences
  • Identify, implement and report success measures for programmes
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition teams to attract and retain a diverse talent pool
  • Create standardised processes and frameworks to support localised early careers programmes, allowing for multiple entry points into Meggitt.
  • Strategic:
  • Engage with senior leaders and other key stakeholders to understand current and future skills requirements, designing and implementing high quality programmes aligned to this
  • Ensure our early careers programmes are inclusive and attract a diverse range of talent
  • Work with leadership teams to identify opportunities to utilise the Apprenticeship Levy to its full potential for both new entrants and existing employees
  • Design and develop a US apprenticeship programme and support other global apprenticeships
  • Develop post apprenticeship learning routes for further education
  • Design and develop a global internship programme to feed our graduate and entry level talent pipeline
  • Partner with the Corporate Communications Team to increase our brand awareness and
external reputation as an Early Careers employer.

  • Be an ambassador for Early Careers internally and externally, promoting career opportunities within the sector as well as within Meggitt.
  • Other:
  • Support the design of, and facilitate, key learning programs across the organization (HPC, LeadX, Leadership Development)
  • Work with our Employee Resource Groups (e.g. STEM, Young Professionals etc) to achieve strategic shared goals and priorities

Key skills and competencies required:

  • Extensive experience of defining, designing, developing and managing a range of Early Careers programmes
  • Up to date knowledge and practical understanding of apprentice/skills development best practice
  • Exemplary skills in providing career pathways to enable career progression for all roles
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills at all levels
  • A relationship builder with outstanding communication skills and the ability to listen
  • Proven ability to work crossfunctionally and at a global level
  • Demonstrable experience of building brand presence to help in the attraction of top talent
