Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Pricing Models within AXA Retail to own and deliver the pricing models strategy, leading the team to continually improve the predictiveness of statistical models of claims, demand, elasticity and market premium across direct and intermediary home and motor accounts using both traditional and emerging data science techniques.

Reporting to the Director of Pricing, you will collaborate with the Reserving and Claims Analytics teams to ensure there is a common view of emerging claims trends and inflation, and shape the exposure management strategy from a pricing perspective.

  • Identify areas of commonality and areas of necessary difference between portfolios, tailoring models to individual distribution channels where appropriate.
  • Ensure models are appropriately excellent and refreshed frequently (automated where possible) using model performance KPI's to determine the refresh cadence, deploying model changes in an agile but well controlled manner in line with agreed timelines.
  • Proactively identify, analyse, test and drive implementation of new data sources, including internal customer data, external credit data, aggregator data and weather peril risk scoring.
  • Regularly collaborate with Reserving and Claims Analytics leaders to deliver a single view of inflation expectations and other emerging claims trends, using insight from model refreshes where appropriate.
  • Shape and deliver pricing exposure management strategy, influencing Retail reinsurance activity to optimise reinsurance costs in pricing.
  • Ensure the customer impact is considered at all stages of the modelling process, ensuring use of customer data is fair, ethical and well governed.
  • Lead the Pricing Models team, coaching and developing direct reports, ensuring priorities are aligned with Retail business objectives and the impact of deliverables is well understood.
  • Collaborate with other AXA entities to maximise knowledge sharing across the Group.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience leading and motivating a team at Leader level to achieve targets and building a culture of positive energy, empowerment, creativity and teamwork.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment in which the business operates and understanding of the dynamics of large organisations.
  • Demonstrable resilience and experience of successfully managing multiple priorities.
  • Strategic thinker, and able to translate strategy into a delivery plan.
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills.
  • Proven track record in people development skills and evidence of effective performance management, strong development and coaching skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, including proven ability to establish early credibility, build robust relationships, manage stakeholder expectations, provide sensitive guidance, bring about consensus and resolve conflict.
  • Solution focused, with a strong focus on delivery, and desire for continuous improvement.
  • Selfmotivated with a cando attitude, valuing the contribution of others and understanding the need for collaboration.
