Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for a professional and experienced individual to undertake the roles of
Instructor/Technician in Wardrobe and Associate Lecturer in Production Arts (Wardrobe)at our
Chichester campus.


The Instructor/Technician in Wardrobe and Associate Lecturer in Production Arts (Wardrobe) role:


  • Instructor Technician in Wardrobe:
  • Fixed Hours hours per week, 52 weeks per year
  • Pro rata of £20,070 £21,700 (i.e. £8,028 £8,680) per annum
  • Associate Lecturer in Production Arts (Costume):
  • Variable Hours
- £ £32.89 per hour


As our instructor/Technician in Wardrobe and Associate Lecturer in Production Arts (Wardrobe) in our Production Arts department, you will instruct and teach costume students all the relevant skills of a modern theatre.


As an Instructor Technician, you will assist other lecturers in delivering Production Arts and ensure equipment and materials are available to use.

As an Associate Lecturer you will undertake teaching activities in the curriculum area.


Key Responsibilities of our Instructor/Technician in Wardrobe and Associate Lecturer in Production Arts (Wardrobe):

  • Undertaking administration related to course requirements and providing reports and statistics as required
  • Participating in marketing activities and promoting the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment
  • Liaising with Additional Support in specific cases to ensure students get appropriate support
  • Participating in curriculum area, College, employer/parent functions, reviews, meetings and promotional activities, as required
  • Organising daily activities within the learning environment, including the preparation and maintenance of resources, services and housekeeping
  • Providing assistance to individuals or groups of students within the learning environment
  • Implementing and maintaining the regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health legislation, including the reviews of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and undertake risk assessments
  • Participating in course review activities and the generation and implementation of new resources and action plans

Our ideal Instructor/Technician in Wardrobe and Associate Lecturer in Production Arts (Wardrobe) should have the below skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of Costume Construction
  • Knowledge of Safe Theatre Practice
  • Competency in using the relevant tools/equipment
