An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Rochdale Council within the Child Protection team. This is a temporary social worker position work includes early stages of care proceedings.


In this role you will benefit from a competitive hourly rate of £39 p/h whilst having the opportunity to work in a professional and vibrant environment.


You will be responsible for a small caseload of 14/16 children and for supporting the Team Manager in raising quality and standards across your team.

The Family Support and Protect Service work with children from Child Protection plans all the way through to adoption so there are some excellent opportunities to showcase your skills and experience.

This is a real opportunity to develop your management skills, coach and mentor your team and work in a supportive and creative service.


We have a commitment to continuing to embed our Relational Practice Model and to keeping caseloads at a manageable level to be able to achieve that.

We are looking for an agency worker who has experience in managing complex child protection work and care proceedings.


As a valued member of the team you will be responsible for child in need and child protection cases within the case management part of the team, effectively supporting good case planning and completing interventions with children and young people.


For this position you will need a good range of skills and experience across medium to long term work with children and families.

You will also need to hold a recognised social work qualification and be SWE registered.

Furthermore, you will have at least two years post qualifying experience with evidence to support your ability to undertake work within a child protection team.
