Intern, SME Finance & Development

Role description:

Under the supervision of the Financial Products team within the SME Finance & Development Group, the intern may support joint advisory and finance programmes.

In general, the role will entail a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

Contribute to the development of a number of blended finance products aimed at SME development and financial inclusion
Data gathering, research and providing background information into specific areas of project preparation and/or monitoring.
Provide support to the team members working on fundraising to mobilise adequate donors' resources for the Group's needs, either from bilateral or multilateral donors
Organisation and support to the management of upcoming events or workshops in the EBRD region of operation
Active coordination between different teams in the EBRD and with external consultants.
Preparation of outreach materials and adhoc briefings when needed
Drafting specific assigned portions of EBRD documents and correspondence.
Ad hoc assignments as requested

Key skills required:

Passion to learn and grow in EBRD
Proven analytical and numerical skills
Very good written (report writing, correspondence) and verbal communication skills in English
Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
Ability to work well within a team
Ability to work independently

Education/Experience required:

6 month 3+ years of business finance or other relevant experience

- good relevant degree from a leading university preferably in Economics, Finance, Business, Development Studies
- computer literacy

Good understanding of and interest in financial inclusion issues of SMEs in emerging markets

- some relevant commercial experience
