Schedule:


  • Fulltime position, typically Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if necessary.

Job Summary:


Cliniwaste are looking to employ a Clinical Waste Transfer Plant Supervisor, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of at the Cliniwaste Bradford facility.

This role involves managing a team of Plant Operatives, ensuring that waste materials are processed safely and efficiently, and maintaining compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Team Management

  • Lead and coordinate the activities of the plant.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to plant personnel, including operators, technicians, and support staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and training for employees.

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure strict adherence to relevant regulations concerning the handling, transportation, transfer, and disposal of clinical and hazardous waste.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety meetings.
  • Investigate and report accidents or safety violations when necessary.

Plant Operations

  • Monitor and optimise the transfer processes to ensure the efficient and effective processing of clinical waste materials.
  • Coordinate delivery of clinical waste to the facility.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

Quality Assurance

  • Maintain high standards for waste transfer and environmental protection.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure plant operations meet industry standards.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Keep detailed records of waste quantities, processing methods, and disposal.
  • Prepare and submit reports required by regulatory agencies.

Inventory Management

  • Manage the inventory of chemicals and supplied required within the plant.
  • Procure necessary materials and maintain inventory levels.

Environmental Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the facility operates in an environmentally responsible manner, minimising the impact on the local ecosystem.

Team Leadership

  • Foster a positive working environment, resolve personnel issues, and encourage teamwork among employees.

Qualifications:


  • WAMITAB/COTC Level 4 High Risk Operator Competence for Managing Physical and Chemical Treatment of Hazardous Waste
  • Previous experience in waste management, especially clinical or hazardous waste, is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of UK environmental regulations, safety standards, and waste treatment processes.
  • Exceptional organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for recordkeeping and reporting.

Additional Requirements:


  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy objects.
