Specialised Support Worker

Location:
Keynsham

**Hours: Part Time

  • Sleeping Nights.**
    Salary:£16 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Implement Positive Behavioural Support Plans:

  • Adhere to and update positive behavioural support plans as needed.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of strategies outlined in the support plans.

Provide 2:1 Support:


  • Offer continuous 2:1 support to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the individual.
  • Handle challenging behaviours with a calm and patient approach.

Support During 12-Hour Shifts:


  • Work 12hour shifts, including 88 days and nights, providing comprehensive care.
  • Assist with activities of daily living and provide emotional support.

Community Access Facilitation:


  • Safely facilitate the individual's access to the community.
  • Accompany and support outings, ensuring the individual's safety and wellbeing.
  • Encourage them to pursue the activities they enjoy doing, such as keeping active or visiting close family and friends.

Person centred care:


  • Encourage and enable the individual to develop and maintain their independence.
  • Empower the individual to make choices about their own life, and support them by meeting their unique needs.

Crisis Support:


  • Be prepared to offer crisis support when required.
  • Maintain composure and effectively manage crisis situations.

Non-Verbal Communication:


  • Demonstrate understanding and proficiency in supporting nonverbal individuals.
  • Utilize effective communication techniques to connect with the individual.

Documentation and Reporting:


  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of support provided, incidents, and individual progress. Generate reports as required.
