We are recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative on behalf of a Merton, London, SW19 based company. On offer is a permanent job paying up to £23,000 per year plus bonus and overtime.

Working hours are 6.30am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday with overtime available in the week as well as at the weekends.


As a member of the Grounds Maintenance Team you will be:

  • Maintaining the grounds at a variety of locations that will include large private estates, social housing estates, nursing homes, hospitals and NHS sites, schools, colleges and nurseries.
  • Using strimmers, hedge trimmers, brush cutters, pedestrian mowers and on occasion ride on mowers.
  • Planting seasonal flower beds, trees and shrubs as required.


As the depot is within walking distance of the local train station you do not need to drive, if you do it would help with career progression as Team Leaders drive the vans but as the Operative you would be going out with the Team Leader.


To be considered as the Grounds Maintenance Operative you will need:

  • Experience of using pedestrian mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers and brush cutters. If you've used a ride on mower great, if not training will be given.
  • Experience of weeding.
  • Experience of planting.
