Hounslow IAPT is seeking to recruit a Community Engagement Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) who has completed the Low intensity CBT post graduate training and are looking to progress their career as part of our supportive and highly regarded team.

The Community Engagement PWP will be responsible for community engagement and outreach.

The post holder will need to identify, maintain and strengthen links with relevant local community organisations, multicultural community and faith groups, GPs and stakeholders including identifying potential barriers to accessing services and offering strategies to overcome these.

This post attracts an additional 5% 'golden hello'.

This is in recognition of the fact that Hounslow is an outer London borough and does not attract the full High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS) of the Inner London boroughs.

The 'golden hello' will be paid over 2 years.


We would like to hear from you if you are:

  • A qualified PWP who has successfully completed an IAPT PWP training course and has experience in IAPT.
  • Able to deliver high quality personcentred interventions that reflect local and national priorities and targets
  • A person with experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds, including using interpreters.
  • A person with a passion and proven record for developing successful links with the community
  • Able to demonstrate good therapeutic relationships with people
  • An inspirational and collaborative team player with excellent communication skills committed to improving access to psychological therapies across the Hounslow borough

There is a need to be able to work flexibly, with community groups taking place in different locations across the borough of Hounslow.

There will be scope for you to develop and shape this role and the opportunity to learn Quality Improvement methods to evaluate and review your work.
