Job Introduction:
We have an opportunity for a Highways Maintenance Site Supervisor to join Colas Ltd, working on our new Cheshire West & Chester Term Maintenance contract.
Main Responsibility:
The Highways Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for executing and monitoring planned scheme works on the highways network and structures whilst ensuring schemes are delivered safely, within budget and on time.
Maintain a good relationship with clients, ensure that all work is carried out to Company Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards and to regularly communicate with staff and operatives on these matters, carry out Safety Audits as laid down by line management.
Provide leadership and direction to several teams across various work activities, e.g., footway & carriageway surfacing, surface treatments, drainage, signage, civils works and others.
A thorough working knowledge of site safety rules, good working knowledge of highway legislation.
Have strong leadership qualities, be a motivator and people manager.
Coach and develop staff, have good written and verbal communication skills, good listener with detailed knowledge of the industry.
Have the ability to work on own initiative and evaluate appropriate action and to remain focused under pressure, be organised, good time management, ability to plan and prioritise own workload and be a good team player with a team spirit philosophy.
Qualifications:
- Industry experience in a similar or equivalent role.
- Suitable construction qualifications and training course attendance.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Hold a high level of experience in highway construction and maintenance.
- CSCS Professionally Qualified.
