Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Indirect Strategic Buyer to join our team. The Buyer will be responsible for developing and improving the way in which MME purchases Indirect goods and services.

Negotiating costs and other terms effectively in line with department objectives, procedures and company direction. Identifying, recommending and implementing cost reduction opportunities.

Agreeing standards and KPI's with supplier in line with MME stakeholders, with agreed monitors and escalation routes and controlling ordering process for MME Stores.

Duties:

• To be responsible for negotiating the lowest total acquisition costs for indirect goods and services whilst maintaining agreed levels of quality, delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
• To assist department staff in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
• To identify and recommend suppliers for new / existing requirements in order to meet MME's cost reduction targets and remove consistently poor performing suppliers.
• To monitor commodity market trends in order to provide the base information required too conduct effective strategic supplier negotiations.
• To assist in the drafting of purchasing contracts between MME and new / existing suppliers for consideration and approval.
• To control and improve ordering process for MME stores.
• To coordinate and manage effectively the release, progressing and replies to quotations with recommendations and proposals.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of working in a busy purchasing department within a Manufacturing company
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
