Site Reliability Engineer (GCP)


We are looking for a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to become part of our eCommerce client's business and help them develop and deliver a new platform strategy.


This is a significant business transformation project as the business migrate from Legacy
OpenStackbased platform technologies to the Google Cloud based platform.


The business require an excellent SRE to join the team and to help guide the technology teams through this journey.


As SRE you'll be reporting to the Head of Site Reliability Engineering, while being an active contributor supporting our cross-functional journey teams.

You'll be focussing on extending and improving our high traffic platform, while mentoring engineers aroundyou, assisting in hiring, as well as maintaining and advocating strong development standards.


Main responsibilities:

You will be positioned as a Senior Contributor who will help migrate to a modern cloud based automotive platform.

  • Developing infrastructure on GCP/GKE with Terraform, Helm, GCP services
  • Cloud migration and containerisation strategies (OpenStack to GCP)
  • Engage in service demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning
  • Represent the team in design reviews and operational readiness exercises for new and existing services
  • Support Public Cloud cost management

Role requirements:


  • Experience working in Agile teams and Agile methodologies
  • Experience in the following technologies:
  • Terraform
  • Helm
  • Docker
  • Google Cloud Services and Architecture
  • Istio
  • Spinnaker
  • Linux
  • Previous experience with the following is a bonus:
  • Jenkins
  • Prometheus
  • Grafana
  • OpenStack
  • Linux
System Administration

  • PostgreSQL
  • Data Infrastructure
