Aims and Objectives of the role:

The purpose and aims of the Care Compliance Officer role is to ensure SCA Care are offering the highest quality services in line with internal and external requirements for all SCA Care services including maintaining compliance with our regulator CQC. To ensure that staff are competent in their roles, by providing training and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:


The main focus of the Compliance Officer role is to deal with compliance requirements for the SCA Care services however, availability to offer support in aspects of compliance across all of SCiA Group services is also needed.


To ensure effective and accurate communications with the Service Manager for Social Care, the managers and staffing teams to ensure all reporting is completed in a timely manner.

To maintain the highest level of compliance with our regulator CQC.


Manage and maintain the electronic policy and procedure systems, ensuring they comply with external regulations and any updates on regulations are included in our policies and procedures, and staff remain compliant with policy reading.

To produce and carry out comprehensive compliance audits within all of SCA Care services.


Prepare audit reports and the associated action plans to work with managers and staffing teams to ensure the required standards are met.


To provide advice, support and training to our management and staffing teams and assist with personal development in relation to their roles and associated tasks.

This includes delivering face to face mandatory training, workshops and any provide regulatory updates to our managers and staffing teams by means of a monthly compliance update bulletin.


Report any violations or potential violations to the Service Manager for Social Care and authorised agencies as appropriate and when required.


To act as the point of contact for staff to report any direct compliance issues, using the appropriate means to investigate and resolve problems in a timely manner.


Ensure quality audits are completed in a timely manner, with anticipated or actual delays being report to the Service Manager for Social Care.

To document findings from audits, quality checks or assessments factually, accurately and without prejudice.


To prepare reports incorporating recommendations to support operational and strategic improvements where necessary and follow up on agreed actions, ensuring the correct actions are in place as quickly as possible.

To deliver presentations regarding compliance issues and organisational requirements concerning internal policies and procedures.


To attend meetings and provide data to reflect an accurate picture of SCiA Care's position with regard to audited services.


To maintain oversight of the accident and incident database including ensuring completion of all documents, and highlighting any known risks or concerns to the Director of Integrated Services to be addressed at the regular health and safety meetings.

To prepare, distribute and analyse customer, stakeholder and staff quality questionnaires as required.

To maintain full professional knowledge of clinical, contractual and CQC regulatory requirements.
