We have full time and Part time rolesavailable, plus Immediate start.

Salary:
up to £22,347 per year plus plenty of Benefits (Listed below)

  • Please know we are looking for someone who is able to reliably commute within these areas

Location:
DY9 0RW and WR9 7BH

  • 7am until 3pm
  • 2.30pm until 10.30pm
  • 9am until 5pm
  • 9am until 9pm
  • 7am until 10.30pm
  • If you do not wish to do the longer shifts (9am until 9pm and 7am until 10.30pm) you can stick to the shorter shifts (7am until 3pm, 2.30pm until 10.30pm and 9am until 5pm)

Job Description of a Support Worker / Personal Assistant:

As a member of the team, we believe support workers are instrumental in providing a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle for the young adults we support.

We are looking for people who are committed, enthusiastic, creative in style with a good sense of humourto provide a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.


You will be asked to do the following:

  • To support the Service Users living with us, through personcentred approaches to reach their full potential.
  • To have a good understanding of the Service Users needs, especially their Autistic Spectrum Condition and how to meet those needs.
  • To respond to each individual with foresight and flexibility, understanding their behaviour, that others may perceive as challenging.
  • To enable Service Users to achieve independence as far as possible, in all areas of their life, by providing appropriate information, opportunity, advice and support.
  • To support Service Users to communicate effectively, understanding each person's specific communication needs.
  • To work within the context of our Policies and Procedures, guidelines and protocols.
  • To always maintain confidentiality.
  • To support the Service User in the management of their health and wellbeing, and to provide personal care as required.

Responsibilities will include:


  • Making sure that Service Users are treated with dignity and respect in all areas of their lives.
  • Taking a 'personcentred' approach in supporting Service Users.
  • Meeting the requirements of our Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensuring the protection of the Vulnerable Adults policies and procedures are acted upon as a primary consideration.
  • Reporting concerns and raising questions, when in doubt.
  • Following Service User Care Plans.
  • The health and safety of the Service User, their colleagues and themselves.

Essential Skills:


  • Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to promote the dignity and individuality of Service Users and encourage selfindependence and choice.
  • Demonstrate ability to relate professionally and respectfully to Service Users who have autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities and complex needs.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the level of maturity to undertake the responsibility of the post.
  • Ability to work autonomously and productively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively within a staff team and under own initiative when required.
  • Ability to act calmly and appropriately in a crisis.
  • Ability to demonstrate reliability.
  • Ability to work within a specific shift system.
  • Demonstrate the ability to always maintain confidentiality.

Desirable Skills:


  • Experience in working with adults who have Autistic Spectrum Disorders / Learning Disabilities.
  • QCF Level 2/3 in Adult Health and Social Care or equivalent (NVQ).
  • Full clean, driving licence.
