Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to lead the advocacy work for the MCB Public Affairs team with a focus on the General Election 2024, supporting greater engagement and representation for British Muslims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the General Election response strategy in collaboration with the public affairs team and broader stakeholders.
- Lead and foster relationships with essential stakeholders, including politicians and relevant parliamentary groups.
- Deliver MCB campaigns on general election on a national scale, through engagement of our affiliates network across the UK.
- Prepare detailed, researchbacked briefing documents for internal and external stakeholders about key issues affecting British Muslims.
- Stay informed about the political environment, providing timely intelligence to relevant internal staff and identifying opportunities.
- Draft responses to parliamentary, government, and other consultations.
- Coordinate with media organisations and journalists as necessary.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders, including Muslim communities, to enhance understanding of civic engagements via roundtables, hustings, and voter registration.
- Draft a range of reports and resources required for the project such as Voter ID guidance, Mosque Election pack and project delivery report.
- Support the work of the Public Affairs Department as and when needed
Requirements:
- Comprehensive understanding of key issues pertaining to Muslim communities at a national level.
- Proven experience in writing clear, concise, and persuasive content, with the ability to present complex information in an easily understandable way.
- Track record of preparing briefing documents and influencing stakeholders.
- Result driven, remains calm, effective and positive even when under pressure; takes ownership for delivering outcomes.
- Higher education qualification or equivalent professional experience in Public Affairs.
- Demonstrable IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Database software (strong excel skills are required)
Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract, Freelance
Contract length: 6 months
Salary:
£12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
