**To provide support for a 10-year-old little girl with a diagnosis of Mixed Pattern Cerebral Palsy and has complex care needs.

MAIN DUTIES:

We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to enable this little girl to access age-appropriate leisure activities in the local community.

The child has complex care needs due to her physical disabilities and requires the use of a wheelchair to move around, which she is unable to do independently.

A recent diagnosis of Dystonia, a movement disorder which can cause painful muscle spasms and contractions, means that medication is required to help with the management of her discomfort.

Training will be provided for the administration of medication. The child requires support with all aspects of her care, including eating and drinking and personal care.
Hours 5 hours per week with an additional 5 hours per week during all school holiday weeks.
Rate of pay £10.82 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata.
Out of pocket expenses will be met by the employer.

Person Specification Successful applicant must:

Have at least 12 months experience working with children who have disabilities
Have a positive understanding towards children with disabilities
Have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs
Have a high degree of initiative
Be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised
Be flexible
Have a happy, positive and caring nature
Respect confidentiality

Car driver essential and must have business insurance.
An Enhanced DBS Check is required, cost to be met by employer.
