Finance Assistant
We are looking for a Finance Assistant. In this role you will be reporting to the Finance Manager.

The main purpose of the role is the maintenance of financial records and processing income and expenditure, expenses and monthly collation of time tracking and invoices to clients.

Dealing with individual project financials and undertaking a range of financial reporting and administrative tasks as well as processing of month end support which is vital to role.

The role operates in a team environment and will be expected to work in a collaborative way with the Exec and other members of staff.

Essential requirements:

  • Proven experience as a finance administer/assistant or similar role
  • Good general accounting experience, with sound debit and credit comprehension, VAT knowledge and reconciliation experience.
  • Handson experience with accounting software (XERO expert)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets, charts and using financial Excel functions)
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping procedures
  • Time management and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Handson experience in a small/medium organisation desirable
  • Experience of working remotely
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Accounting Technician Qualification (AATQ)

Accountabilities:

  • Manage accounts receivable and payable
  • Support month end process reconciliation, invoicing clients etc
  • Review and process expenses (Associates and employees)
  • Previous knowledge of VAT needed
  • Maintain reports using company software
  • Assist in the logging and payment of invoices
  • Help maintain client project spreadsheets
  • Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the finance manager
  • Create, send, and follow up on invoices
  • Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets
  • Review and audit financial statements and reports as directed by finance manager, ensure all calculations and data entries are correct
  • Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients
  • Assist the financial manager in creating financial reports/KPIs on a monthly basis
  • Support payroll submission as required
  • Support the management of Company Insurances
  • Adhere to the company's or organisation's financial policies and procedures
  • Answers question and provide assistance to Exec, team members, and clients as needed
  • Attend finance department and companywide meetings, sometimes assisting with financial reporting to managers and senior executives
  • Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.
  • Report any troubling discoveries or suspicion of wrongdoing to the proper authorities

£26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
