At Tuition Time, our mission is to develop the next generation of independent and confident learners.

We are looking for passionate and inspiring people to make a difference to the many children that attend our centre.

We are developing and establishing an Ofsted registered tutoring institution that has been successfully running for nearly 5 years. Situated just 10 minutes away from Huddersfield University and the town centre. We have a close-knit team of staff varying from college and university students to experienced and qualified teachers.

Our tutors take a very relaxed but also serious approach to learning and our team of staff together make it an extremely warm and welcoming place to work.

What will you do?

• Consulting with children and parents and involving them in planning activities.
• Encouraging parental involvement in the centre.
• Working within the framework of the centres' policies and procedures, and ensure all other staff are too.
• Help promote the centre.
• Tutoring children of mixed ages, abilities and learning needs, in small groups
• Tailoring your approach supporting children to learn and progress at their own pace
• Encouraging children to overcome challenges celebrating when they have a go and recognising their efforts
• Preplanned lessons and assessments for most children (so VERY little planning, if any)
• Build a rapport with your students and their parents.

Working Hours:

Hours will be Evenings and Weekends, but we have very flexible shifts and work around your commitments.

You will start on a minimum of one shift and upon your own availability and student numbers this will increase with your convenience.

Hours can increase up to 16 hours per week (part-time) and 24 hours (full time)

Currently, we are open Friday evenings and weekends. The centre is open throughout the year, including school holidays.

We have a flexible approach to taking time off, as long as other staff can cover shifts and it doesn't occur too much and affect the smooth running of the centre and children's education.

Essential qualities:

• Some knowledge of GCSE English, Maths & Science curriculum
• You'll need strong Maths, English and Science GCSE grades (or some of these)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work as a team member and also independently
• A valid DBS certificate (or we can help you obtain one if you are successful in joining our team)

This post can be offered on an employment or self-employment basis.

Basic wage to £13.00 /hour
