Description

We are seeking an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) in Emergency Surgery to join the Surgical Triage Unit team based at Salford Care Organisation.

You will join an established and growing team of both qualified and trainee ACP's.


The Surgical Triage Unit has been a leading example of a purpose designed, self-contained multi specialty, multi-disciplinary unit for provision of assessment and admission of acute surgical patients, as well as providing surgical ambulatory care.

Salford Royal has an exceptional reputation in the provision of emergency general surgery, demonstrating excellent NELA outcomes.

We pride ourselves on our team ethos, and the successful applicant will be fully supported by a comprehensive and cohesive multi-disciplinary team consisting of Surgeons, ACPs, Ageing and Complex Medicine Physicians, and experienced nursing and support staff.


In approximately June STU will be moving into a new purpose built Unit in the Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital (GMMTH) which is part of the Salford Care Organisation hospital and on site.

You will take a lead role in advanced clinical assessment and treatment of patients, working with multi professional teams, across a diverse caseload of patients.

Working on the Surgical Triage Unit and ambulatory area, whilst also reviewing /assessing patients on the General wards and Emergency Department as required.

You will have the freedom to act as an autonomous, accountable practitioner working on your own initiative and in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will relish the opportunity to help us enhance our service to ensure we are continuously improving our patient experience by supporting professional colleagues and through the provision of skilled professional leadership.

You will also participate in clinical governance within the service by undertaking audit and research.
