In addition, participation in the departmental and Trust wide teaching programmes for the relevant junior medical staff and members of the multidisciplinary teams is expected RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT *Consultants are key members of the Directorate Team and are accountable and responsible for leading changes to service that will improve the patient experience.

*To support the Clinical Service Leads in policy and strategy development as a senior member of the Directorate Management Team.

*To contribute to the leadership and development of Services under the direction of the Clinical Service Leads and Medical Director and in line with the Trust's business plans.

EFFORT *The post holder will ensure effective communication and involvement of staff across the Directorate including support to the General Manager and Group Support Managers to achieve their objectives.

Work in collaboration with colleagues in other Directorates within the Trust.

*Work within the Trust's framework for Clinical Governance and Risk, including the development of clinical policies and to supervise or lead quality improvement projects and audits.

*The list is not exhaustive and all these would be discussed and a Job Plan agreed at the start. *The appointee will be managerially, but not clinically, accountable to the CDG Medical Director and Clinical Service Lead
