We currently have an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Women's and Childrens Division for an office Coordinator to join our team.

As a keen team player, you will play a key role in supporting our division.

You will be part of a world-renowned clinical team, a vibrant and busy admin team who work together and support each other to achieve the best.


The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support primarily to the Clinical Directors for Children's and Obstetric and Gynaecology services.

The role comprises a wide range of specific duties and requires skills in word processing, information technology, communication, diary management (Outlook) and organisation.

A sound knowledge and understanding of medical terminology is desirable.

The post holder must be willing to undertake any additional training necessary in order to fulfil the role. The post holder will work closely within the PA office and support with minute taking and action trackers.


There has never been a more exciting time to join West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Major redevelopment works are planned as part of the New Hospital Programme.

These will be most dramatic at Watford General Hospital where up to 90% of buildings will be new.

  • Ability to change from one task to another due to frequent interruptions such as telephone and personal callers i.e., doctors or other staff.
  • Comply with departmental and organisational policies within own work area and provide comments as required.
  • Propose and implement changes to processes impacting on own tasks. E.g., induction processes, regional academy placements.
  • Follow policies in own role, may be required to comment / implement SOP/policies and propose changes to practices, procedures for own area.
  • To ensure patient confidentiality is always maintained. To maintain and develop personal skills through participating in ongoing training and awareness of changing procedures/policies.
  • To provide a support and signposting service to all WACs
  • This post has no line management responsibilities. Facilitative in approach to encourage different contributions.
  • Be directional when necessary.
  • Independent role required to manage their own workload.
  • Attend and support the Faculty Meetings.
  • Foster and maintain close working links with all relevant internal and external personnel.
  • Updates, maintains, stores clinical or nonclinical records,
  • Responsible for maintaining one or more information systems.
