Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor under the direction of the Housekeeping Coordinator and/or Hotel Lead, assists with the management, coordination and smooth day to day running of hard and soft facilities within Hotel Services.


The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for training new employees, existing staff members and is the first point of contact in the escalation process.


The Housekeeping Supervisor(s) (Internal) are responsible for the cleanliness of the Trust Hospital Areas, whilst the Housekeeping Supervisor (External) is responsible for cleanliness of Trust associated buildings owned and leased, such as; Albany & Damers Court, Vespasian House, Atrium, etcetera.

The Housekeeping Supervisor:


  • Works as part of a team in maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the hospital to the required standard of the Hotel Services department, the Trust's expectations, and National Standards for Healthcare Cleanliness.
  • Supervises the maintenance of the required level of linen in the wards and departments throughout the hospital.
  • Supervises a team of staff, dealing with the day to day running of the team and particularly supporting the welfare of all staff within the department
  • Required to demonstrate duties to new starters or other staff members if required, and to undertake local induction with new starters and complete the necessary paperwork for training and local induction undertaken.
  • Responsible for the retraining of staff throughout the year through workplace assessments escalating performance issues to management.
  • Responsible for the appraisals of the staff on their shift and for the setting of reasonable objectives of all staff they supervise
