Market Operations is a team of 400 Operations Professionals who support our Financial Markets, CommSec, Trade Finance & Treasury businesses globally.

Functions performed are trade confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and client data capture/maintenance, corporate actions across FX, Fixed Income, Rates, Commodities, Derivatives and Equities.


We also provide Middle Office services including Collateral Management, Regulatory Reporting, Client Reference Data maintenance, Client Onboarding, Account Origination, Client Case Management, Estate Management, International Loan Administration, Trade Support and Confirmation services.


Picture yourself in the team:
The purpose of this position is to assist the team in its various functions. The team looks after Commodities products, primarily Base and Precious metals.

The team manages a number of functions including and not limited to; metal financing, physical movement of metal, warehouse inspections, vessel screening, Shipper's Letter of Instruction, Warrants, deal validation and daily stock / deal reconciliations.

The role requires the ability to manage and resolve deal related quality issues and knowledge of Financial Markets products. The Global Commodities team manages transactional activity of the Global Commodities desks across various regions. We work with a number of internal and external stakeholders.


Do work that matters:

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide trade support to the Global Commodities desks.
  • Validate and settle physical and financial commodity transactions.
  • Handle queries from a wide spectrum of stakeholders.
  • Reconciliation of physical commodity positions.
  • Title of ownership transfer for physical delivery trades including production and review of key documents such as Invoices, Conditional Releases, Unconditional Releases, Letters of Undertaking, Bar Lists.
  • Liaise closely with Sales and Trading teams to resolve any operational issues that might arise and provide general support when required.
We are interested in hearing from you if you have:

  • Commodities background, preferably across metals.
  • Experience of key documentation relating to metal transactions (invoices, conditional/unconditional releases, LOU's, BL's)
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong change management and proven experience in process improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience in the mitigation of operational errors.
  • Confidence in dealing with Sales & Trading.-Sidekick
