Our client is a civil and structural engineering and environmental consultancy, providing award-winning integrated solutions across a wide range of engineering and environmental consulting projects.

They have a proven track record in contaminated land and are looking for an ambitious individual to further their career and gain more experience in these specialist markets.

ResponsibilitiesSupporting senior staff to manage project deliverables and budgets

  • Completing siteworks on a wide variety of sites to carry out surveys, site walkovers, supervise contractors, collect soil, groundwater, gas, and vapour samples, and air monitoring
  • Soil logging to current UK standards, including laboratory scheduling
  • Preparation of factual reports, Phase 1 desk studies, waste classifications, environmental risk assessments, and input into interpretative reporting
  • The production of risk assessments and method statements
  • Opportunities to support other parts of the environmental team and wider business to provide our clients with a fully integrated approach to projects
  • The role may require travel, overnight and/or out of hours work and may require working away from home

Requirements:


  • Minimum 2 years' relevant industry background
  • Knowledge of contaminated land legislation and reporting requirements
  • Demonstratable background in Phase 1 desk studies, a variety of site investigation field work skills (soil groundwater, gas and vapour), factual reporting
  • An aspiration to grow their skills in the assessment of contaminated land
  • Competent with Microsoft Office
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Good verbal communication
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Working towards or a member of a Geoscience professional body, such as Geological Society or equivalent
  • CSCS Card holder (desirable but not essential training can be supplied if required)
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
