Overview:

Change Grow Live are a charity dedicated to the belief that we can make a difference to our Service Users lives, offering support and respect in a safe environment, treating each user as an individual and working with them to find the right support and care options.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Criminal Justice Liaison Worker to join our service in Leeds

This exciting role will support service users identified through the criminal justice system to reduce substance misuse related harm.


Working from our city centre base and the community, alongside other professionals such as police, probation, drug and alcohol services, housing, social care, and employment services, strong and positive partnership working is a key element of this role.

You will have excellent engagement skills to conduct personalised assessments for referrals from our criminal justice partners and deliver evidence-based interventions alongside practical support and safeguarding.


You'll have to record information about what you do, so enjoying a bit of paperwork and attention to detail is important.


No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

Hours: 37.5 per week


Salary:
£27, £31,529.41 dependant on experience


Responsibilities:


About the role:


  • The Criminal Justice Liaison worker will act as the main coordinator providing comprehensive assessments; coordinate resettlement and support plans by liaising with relevant agencies such as probation, prison support services and treatment services.
  • Work as part of a team to identify people within the Criminal Justice system who have a history of substance misuse and who are not in treatment. Actively engage this cohort to encourage those not in service to seek support.
  • Carry out risk assessments and risk management.
  • Liaise with all partner teams to ensure effective continuity of care for all service users.
  • To be creative and innovative so that the post best meets the needs of the service user.

About you:


  • Experience of supporting and advising participants with complex and/or multiple barriers to success.
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice system.
  • Experience of working within Criminal Justice Partnerships (desirable).
  • Excellent understanding of issues effecting those involved within the criminal justice system such as drug and alcohol issues.
  • A commitment to multiagency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group.
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users.
