    Heating Engineer Role Overview

    The Heating Engineer is responsible for servicing and responding to maintenance needs of NIHE and Private properties in various areas including Belfast, Causeway Coast & Glen, and Derry.

    This role reports to the Foreman.

    Working Hours:

    1. Monday – Friday
    2. 7.30am – 5pm
    3. On Call Rota
    4. Flexibility is required.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    The Heating Engineer will be responsible for:

    1. Gas/Oil Maintenance repairs and breakdown repairs
    2. Annual Gas/Oil Services in NIHE properties and Private properties
    3. Inspections and safety checks on Gas boilers
    4. Safety checks and services on Oil appliances

    This role requires flexibility to cover other office locations as needed.

    Personnel Specification:

    To be successful in this role, the candidate must meet the following criteria:

    Essential Criteria:

    The ideal candidate will have:

    1. Gas Safe registration with experience in servicing domestic gas systems
    2. OR OFTEC qualification with experience in servicing domestic oil systems
    3. Experience in fault finding on domestic central heating systems and boilers
    4. A full driving license
    5. Availability to carry out call outs on a rotational basis

    Desirable Criteria:

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    1. Time served or qualified plumber
    2. Valid CSR card
