Derby County Football Club, established in 1884, is one of the founder members of the English Football League and has a rich and varied history, including two First Division titles in 1972 and 1975 and an FA Cup success in 1946.

The club are currently playing in League One, the third tier of English Football, and is under the management of Head Coach, Paul Warne.

The club also boasts a successful and respected Category One Academy, a status which has been held since 2014. Derby County is embarking on an exciting new era following the change in ownership to Clowes Developments (UK) Limited.

Derby County Football Club are looking to recruit a Maintenance Assistant to join our in-house maintenance team, working across both Moor Farm Training Centre and Pride Park Stadium.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintenance Duties_
  • To carry out basic repairs and general maintenance work at all DCFC sites.
  • To ensure workspaces are kept clean, clear and free of obstruction in line with Health and Safety regulations.
  • To provide maintenance support across multiple sites where tasks include basic electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, seat repairs, barriers, carpentry, doors, concrete and car park repairs. (Qualifications required for specialist experience)
  • Removal and rearranging of furnishings, rubbish, goods and waste to ensure a safe and highspec environment for all individuals using DCFC facilities.
  • Advise on faults and the need for replenishment or replacement of goods.
  • To provide reactive and proactive support to Match Day and events, ensuring issues are communicated to the Stadium Engineer and/or relevant department.
  • To carry out basic porter duties for nonmatchday / matchday and function use.
  • Communicate with your line manager, colleagues and customers to ensure that they are fully notified of any delays to work with a new and agreed completion date provided.
  • To distribute salt and grit around the Club grounds as required, in preparation for severe weather.
  • Attend meetings as required to ensure up to date knowledge and communication between departments, colleagues, contractors and all stakeholders.
  • To perform preplanned maintenance and prematch checks 24 hours before a home match fixture, reporting any rectifying any defects discovered to ensure safety.
  • To provide matchday cover and assist with the set up and take down as required to allow the Club to provide a safe environment to attend football matches.
  • Pool Duties_
  • To monitor or undertake pool water chemical balance readings as part of the daily pool operation as necessary.
  • To carry out regular checks on plant and equipment as specified by the manufacturer and carry out routine inspections of equipment as appropriate to ensure the equipment is safe for use.
  • To ensure that all tasks and activities associated with the Pool are undertaken in accordance with Health and safety Management policies, the specific pool operating procedures and risk assessments.
  • To ensure that legally required routine checks, monitoring and maintenance is carried out at the recommended frequency.
  • To ensure effective stock control with respect to maintenance elements including pool water chemicals
  • To carry out pool tests and cleaning duties to ensure the pool and surrounding area are kept in excellent condition.

Essential Qualifications

  • Driving License

Desirable Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification in respect of pool operations
  • Small Pool Operators Certificate or similar
  • IPAF MEWP accreditation
The post holder will be required to occasionally work irregular hours to satisfactorily fulfil the requirements of the post.


The role is a full-time position serving the Pride Park Stadium and Moor Farm Training Ground, with standard working hours of 35 hours per week, plus match days.

Salary is competitive, depending on experience.
