Job Purpose

Reporting to the IT & Communication Lead (Volunteer Centre Manager), the post holder will be responsible for delivering C3SC's marketing and communication activities - providing clear, relevant communications to members and stakeholders using a range of digital platforms, editing our WordPress websites, CRM/Portals and researching information and data for funding, and policy and other initiatives.

Key Functions & Tasks


Marketing Co-ordination

• Supporting the IT & Communication Lead in the delivery and updating of C3SC's Marketing and Communication Action Plan, and producing regular progress reports for SMT, trustees and partners.

Publications

• Co-ordinating production of C3SC's Member newsletter, Community Magazine, Network Bulletins and other periodic publications.
• Graphic design and editing of promotional materials including flyers, banners etc.

Media and social media

• Contributing to C3SC's on-line marketing campigns, developing and maintaining its presence on social media accounts including but not limited to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp and LinkedIn feed, and introducing new and innovative ideas and concepts to the Senior Management Team (SMT).
• Supporting the IT & Communication Lead in generating media coverage for C3SC activities, projects and case studies.
• Implement a daily/weekly SM programme to promote social action and community engagement
• Moderating and responding to organisations, groups and individuals on C3SC's virtual social network - C3SC Community Platform, C3SC Membership platform and any future sites.

Websites

• Working with the Management Team to improve, add resources and continue the development of our WordPress websites, CRM and Portals including but not limited to design ideas and editing existing content, editing and creating new pages, posts, logos, graphic designs, infographics and more.
• Authoring, editing and posting new content online, including content authored by other C3SC team members and stakeholders.

Research

• Review best practice in marketing and communications and put forward proposals to improve C3SC's profile and media presence.
• Supporting

Management Team by researching useful socio-economic data, statistics, news stories and policy information to support influencing, funding and commissioning, consultation, promotion and other opportunities.

Other

• Cover for colleagues during absences
• Carry out further duties appropriate to the post in furtherance of Cardiff Third Sector Council's strategies and priorities.

Person Specification & Core Competencies


Skills, knowledge and abilities

• Web designing and development, especially WordPress; with essential programming skills such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP
• Experience of authoring, editing and posting online media content.
• Strong skills in digital, social and new media and Microsoft Office and software skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to deal confidently with service users, professional partners and other individuals and agencies from diverse backgrounds.

• Current experience and skills in digital optimisation tools including SEO, SQL, XML, PYTHON, jQuery, Bootstrap
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours; occasional evening and weekend working.
• Experience of working with voluntary and community organisations in the Third Sector is desirable.
