Purpose of the role -
Our client is looking for a Group Financial Manager to ensure the delivery of an effective financial reporting service for all Group companies, including the delivery of statutory accounts management accounts and a customer focussed Systems and TransactionsService.
Job Role -
- Lead on the production and delivery of statutory accounts for all companies, liaising with the External Audit team to ensure a successful annual audit is achieved.
- Responsible for the delivery of management accounts reports for budget holders and management to ensure they meet the requirements of the Directorates and organisation to support effective decision making and financial planning
- Provide financial appraisal support and design appropriate investment appraisal models as part of the organisations approach to overall project appraisal and delivery
- Advise on improvements to business performance, including analysis of financial implications and development of systems and processes.
- Lead the Accounts team ensuring the delivery of an effective and flexible service which is customer focussed and achieves key performance indicators
- Lead the Treasury team ensuring effective control of the bank accounts, including intercompany cash arrangements
- Lead on the development of the Group's finance and purchase systems, ensuring they are fit for purpose
- Ensure interfaces and file transfers into the finance system are accurate and timely
- Organisational lead on financial education.
- Contribute to devising and implementing policies and procedures within area of responsibility
- Provide technical accounting advice and ensure the group is kept up to date with changes in legislation and regulatory requirements with regard to FRS 102 (accounting regulation) and Housing Finance Standards and provide advice and guidance on maintainingcompliance
- Significant knowledge of Accounting Regulation and experience in the delivery of accounting and reporting services to a large and complex organisation.
- Experience of leading a team with a holistic approach to service delivery, managing change, and managing, coaching and developing people.
- Strong communication, both verbal and written including negotiation and influencing skills, with an ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive conversations and queries appropriately.
- Proven ability to collate, evaluate, analyse, review, report and solve complex problems, including change management activities and financial matters such as compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Ability to deliver effective learning sessions and presentations to a diverse audience.
- Ability to set out financial forecasts and the financial consequences of option scenarios to support business planning.
