This is a new role in our Trust and the post holder will be given the appropriate autonomy to shape the future developments of the service in line with the long-term plan and the move away from siloed hard to reach services towards joined up care and a population-based approach.


We would expect the successful applicant to have:

  • A strong vision and demonstrated capacity to drive though change.
  • Experience engaging key stakeholders both internally and externally to the organisation.
  • Confidence to support and work alongside Clinical Associates in Psychology and to participate in the teaching and training programme with UEA.
  • Ideas about how to set up a more systemic based approach to help partner organizations develop more trauma informed care
  • Demonstrate compassionbased leadership and a readiness to take on new challenges

  • Working alongside senior and operational managers to ensure the cohesive delivery of the service operationally and clinically.
  • Ensure that necessary systems and governance is adhered to for psychological practice
  • Oversee the clinical and professional supervision and support of a broad range of psychological staff within the service as well as supporting recruitment, appraisal and delivering of CPD inside and outside of the service.
  • Supervise and partake in the systematic delivery of highquality psychological services to clients across the county.
  • Provide NICE complaint specialist psychological therapy to adults referred to the service, including the delivery of supervision and supporting interteam shared care.
  • Deliver clinical supervision and leadership to other psychologists delivering specialist interventions as well using professional leadership to support and develop job plans and group programmes.
  • Provide training, consultation, support, and supervision to other staff regarding clients psychological and care needs.
  • Utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development and research across the psychological skills service.

  • To provide senior psychology leadership to the psychological skills service and work in partnership with the community mental health transformation work in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to underpin governance and drive service improvements and research.
  • Make an active contribution to CPFTs quality improvement program.
  • Lead the development of the Clinical Associates in Psychology (CAPs) program within the service.
  • Supervise the other psychological staff within the psychological skills service.
  • To use creative and dynamic approaches to workforce development alongside a commitment to increasing diversity and inclusion alongside the project team.
  • To work with national working party/ trailblazer groups to develop progression routes for new roles
  • To be responsible for governance oversight of psychological skills service across the adult mental health services and to promote consistency of performance and working practices across services.
  • To provide visible, accessible professional and clinical leadership in internal and external operational and strategic forums.
  • To participate in promoting and supporting the implementation and delivery of compassionate, reflective, psychologically, and traumainformed care across the locality.
  • To support innovation in the spirit of coproduction with service users, families/carers, colleagues, VCS, and partners to develop and improve services in line with national policy and evidencebased care, meeting the needs of the population
  • To provide sponsorship and leadership in Quality Improvement and the embedding of quality improvement work within the directorate.
  • To work collaboratively to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including the clinical directors and operational directors in the Mental Health Directorate, and other professional leads in the Trust and across the system.
  • To champion research and support the development of research in line with the Trust and Research department
