They are looking to recruit an
Authorisations and Training Co-ordinator for their site at RAF Odiham. The role is for an initial period of 6 months and is Inside IR35.

This role provides the authorization co-ordination of all staff across all sites where an approval is held. The mechanical role also delivers training directly related to the authorisations issued.

This includes administration, planning and delivery of the monthly induction for technicians (Engineers and Quality staff) joining the Chinook/Apache aircraft and component maintenance teams.

Training is constantly being created and maintained for technicians in response to changing regulations or other requirements as deemed necessary by the Operations Team.

Some of these will be delivered to all technicians as continuation training to meet the requirements of competence assessment and MRP requirements.


Principle Tasks
The principle tasks for this role are:1.


Training Co-ordinator - Act as the training co-ordinator for the clients Aircraft Programmes training cell, responsible for:

a. Development of the annual training schedule for approval by the Aircraft Programmes SQM
b. Implementation of the training schedule by ensuring availability of instructors, rooms and resources as required
c. Engaging with programmes and functions to help identify any training requirements and arranging additional courses as required
d. Maintaining and updating of the training schedule to reflect additions and deletions as approved by the SQM or Training and Authorisations Lead
e. Production of training certificates on completion of training courses
f. Monitoring the review dates of all T&A owned training material and arranging reviews when required
g. Upkeep of training metrics in order to identify any potential problems and report on progress of training
h. Reviewing all training feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement. Provide feedback to instructors and SQM to review adequacy of training
i. Liaison with Office Administrators (OA's) to identify new joiners
j. Arranging induction weeks for new joiners as required
k.

Monitoring instructor numbers to ensure successful delivery of the training schedule and raising any risks or issues to the SQM as required.

l. Scheduling training in the company system
m. Provide credit for training in company systems
n. Act as administrator for Training and Authorisations
o. Deliver On The Job Training to Technicians
p. Create and maintain training syllabi relating directly to engineering authorisations - adding more training as is required either by authorization type or regulatory requirement
q. Providing specific Chinook /Apache mechanical approved training to maintenance personnel.

Authorisations Administrator - Assist the Training and Authorisations Lead in setting the day to day work and oversight of the Authorisations Administrator who has responsibility for the following:

a. Monitoring of the engineering authorisations outlook mailbox for new authorisation requests
b.

Conducting initial assessment of training certificates, experience and associated evidence to determine if competency requirements are met as detailed in PM-BDUK-179/2 and the Training and Authorisations manual.

c. Initial completion of certificate of competency and raising of all forms required for authorisations as required by PM-BDUK-179/2
d. Liaising with managers and individuals where additional evidence is required
e. Preparation of authorisations Log-Book FM-BDUK-418 and authorisation Evidence Folder FM-BDUK-179-2C.
f. Reviewing of the engineering authorisations database/Centrik to highlight when authorisations are due to expire
g. Sending updates to managers to inform them of soon to expire authorisations within their area
h. Maintenance and upkeep of the engineering authorisations database/Centrik.


Secondary Tasks

  • Documentation reviews -Assist with the review of proposals, contracts, Military Aviation Authority Regulatory Publications (MRP), program and customer requirements in order to identify training and authorisations needs.
  • Process reviews / updates - To generate, review and update processes relating to training and engineering authorisations for approval by the process owner.
  • Non-Conformance Management - Manage all non-conformances raised against areas within your responsibility. Identify root causes and corrective
