Senior Payroll Administrator Contract Length:

anticipated 6 months Location: Hybrid 2 days in the office at Gatwick Our client is within central government, and they are looking to hire a Payroll Administrator.

As the Senior Payroll Administrator you will have at least five years' experience working in a similar role and experience of processing high volume payrolls to tight deadlines, preferably within the public sector/ central government.

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator with previous experience, and ideally CIPP qualification or equivalent.

As the Payroll Administrator you will have the following responsibilities:

- accurate and timely processing of payroll changes through e
  • Payfact system (1,500 employees)
- checking / auditing of pay changes entered by other colleagues ensure legislation is adhered to and that employees are paid in an accurate and timely
- manner whilst ensuring compliance with internal and external audit requirements
- co-ordinate with 3rd party software provider to ensure bulk uploads are provided and actioned on a timely basis
- ensure payroll admin deadlines are met
- analyse and investigate payroll errors and take remedial actions reconcile all pension deductions and refunds to colleagues in line with opt in/opt out regulations
- provide support to colleagues to answer payroll queries preparation and reconciliation of 3rd party funding payments and associated reporting requirements
- accurate and timely processing of tax year end processes quarterly submission of P46 car returns
- ad-hoc payroll activities

As the Payroll Administrator you will have worked in a similar role and will have the following skillset:

  • preferably CIPP qualification or equivalent
- experience of processing high volume payrolls to tight deadlines
- good knowledge of central government and employment legislation
- excellent communicator, ability to provide advice and guidance to colleagues at all levels
- flexibility and ability to prioritise are essential

Anticipated Length of Assignment:

Unless otherwise stated (we do carry the occasional permanent vacancy) all of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis and can sometimes become permanent.
