    Description

    The Technical Support Engineer (TSE) plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our fleet aircraft. The position reports directly to the Technical Support Manager and involves leading a team of professionals in airworthiness maintenance, regulatory compliance, and adherence to stringent standards.

    The TSE must possess a deep understanding of aviation regulations, particularly frameworks such as CAA/EASA. Key responsibilities include working with external contracted maintenance organizations on substantial parts maintenance checks, overseeing large developing Company projects, and collaborating with external design companies and original equipment manufacturers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor projects and associated contracts to ensure costs remain within acceptable limits.
    • Ensure quality workmanship meets standards set by the Compliance Monitoring Manager, UK CAA, and other National Aviation Authorities.
    • Plan and coordinate project tasks undertaken by European Cargo Ltd, generating necessary programs to allocate resources effectively.
    • Provide Engineering Liaison between ECL & Part-21 Design & Production Organizations.
    • Instigate Major Changes (modifications) to aircraft and equipment, liaising with Part-21 Subpart J – Design Organizations.
    • Prepare and negotiate contracts and technical price proposals, considering specific contract requirements.
    • Offer Technical Support oversight to engineering, liaising between ECL/ESL/Aircraft OEMs and Component OEMs/MROs for corrective answers or actions.
    • Provide Technical Support oversight to the Engineering Planning department, and liaison between ECL/ESL and contracted Base Maintenance providers.
    • Support the CAM in aircraft & equipment procurement, liaising between ECL/ESL and vendors.
    • Administer contracts placed on ESL regarding man-hours, costs, contractual commitments, and invoicing.
    • Assist in managing Operators' aircraft in contracted Base Maintenance Organizations when required.
    • Promote the Company Safety Policy and ensure Departmental compliance with Health and Safety at Work requirements, reporting any occurrences using the Organization's occurrence reporting system.

    Other Duties:

    • The TSE must stay updated with evolving aviation regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance and enhance safety protocols.
    • Perform tasks as directed by the Continuing Airworthiness Manager to meet day-to-day business requirements.

    Criteria:

    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a CAMO or Line/Base Maintenance environment.
    • An Engineering Degree or AME Licensed Engineer – preferable.
    • Proficient knowledge of systems and software (e.g., OASES, Microsoft 365 package).
    • A sound knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, and maintenance procedures (Airbus A340 and Boeing 737 preferable).
    • A thorough understanding of Compliance Management to remain proficient in industry standards, best practices, and aviation regulatory requirements (UK CAA and EASA).
    • A sound understanding of Safety Management Systems to ensure aircraft and personnel safety.
    • High standard of spoken and written English.
    • Strong team leadership and relationship building skills with the ability to convey expectations, provide feedback, and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
    • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within the department and with regulatory authorities, aircraft manufacturers, and other departments.
    • The right to live and work in the UK.
    • Ability to pass Company background and criminal record checks.
