Role


Our Warehouse Operatives are integral to our organisation in ensuring that materials are properly controlled, accurately booked in and distributed efficiently to our production line and sites.

You will be responsible for counting & picking stock, loading and unloading deliveries, maintaining stock between the minimum and maximum stock levels to avoid stock outs, and ensuring that material arrives on time avoiding production down time.


Primary responsibility

  • Liaises with production to determine their product and service needs
  • Adhere to first in first out inventory management system
  • Ensure deliveries are accurately booked in and procurement notified of any missed deliveries, short deliveries or errors
  • Ensure inventory is counted as per the inventory counting schedule and any discrepancies are investigated
  • Monitor stock between set Minimum and Maximum stock levels and liaise with Procurement to order stock when supply is getting low but by avoiding overordering that may lead to access stock or obsolete inventory
  • Ensure all materials issued to the production area are controlled, signed and accounted for and that all waste is minimised where possible
  • Ensure all delivery vehicles within the facility obey all traffic management rules both prior to, during and after deliveries have been made
  • Ensure that all items are stored inline with manufacturers best practice guidance.
  • Ensure plant checks are completed prior to use and first thing in the morning (forklifts daily inspections etc.)
  • Along with the wider team develop and improve all warehouse processes by determining product handling and storage requirements, inventory management policies with a focus on minimising inventory value levels where possible
  • Ensure that the warehouse is kept tidy and obsolete inventory is properly segregated
Key attributes the company will be looking for include:

  • You will have well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills
  • An appropriate level of numeracy is also very important.
  • You must also be able to work to tight deadlines.

Experience

  • Previous stores operative experience would very extremely beneficial

  • Forklift Licence
