We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated imaging assistant to join our Nuclear Medicine and PET CT team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
This is a full time substantive role working 37.5 hours per week.
The successful post holder would be joining an exceptional team who have shared values and consistently strive to provide high quality patient care.
We work collaboratively with other multidisciplinary teams to improve our service, as well as supporting staff to develop their skills and confidence within the department.
To receive patients into the departments in a professional manner.To follow the correct protocol for checking patient identity and arrival to the department.
To have a clear understanding of procedures carried out in the PET CT and Nuclear Medicine departments and provide information to patients when necessary.
To escort patient to changing areas and assist with changing if required
To cannulate patients in preparation for their procedures where applicable and in line with trust policy.
To assist with the removal cannulas in line with local policies
Taking patient observations as and when required
Assist radiographers, technologists and medical staff as required
Provide support and tend to patient's hygiene needs and report any abnormality to the Modality leads and/or clinicians.
Liaise with portering staff to arrange collection to department and return of patient to their designated ward or department
Maintain supplies on injection trolleys for daily use
Assist with manual handling procedures and prepare the appropriate equipment as and when required.
Prepare and utilise the appropriate PPE
